Confessions of a Toddler- Birth of an idea

My name is Alicia and I teach toddlers. I am quirky, happily married and very into chocolate/CrossFit. As a teacher, I mainly enjoy cloud watching, dinosaur impressions and Sandra Boynton books.
Here is my first attempt at creative writing from a toddler's viewpoint. I was really just blowing off steam after a long, confusing day teaching little ones. Feedback is always welcome. Situations and children's names have been changed/fabricated to suit my imagination and protect the professionalism I so desperately cling to and the innocence of the children subject to my company 40+ hours per week.

Whilst trapped in outdoor play area, Friend had awesome shovel. Oh such a shovel I never did see! Therefore, I gave her to understand that I have previous claim on all things neat and nifty by giving the requisite "Mine!" She did not relinquish said shovel and began to turn her back to me. Feeling a need, as a matter of principle, to reprimand her for her breach of Toddler Etiquette, I procured the shovel in question and began to disperse. Her piercing cries of "Mine!" filled the playground. Heads turned and it seemed to be assumed that my shovel was indeed ill-gotten. The nerve! Then my ears perceived the cry that is the blight of my brief existence...my name. The overseer, or "teacher" as she calls herself, had seen the whole affair and was siding with Friend. I quickly moved behind the slide, but it appears to have failed at rendering me invisible as previously hoped. I ran a few yards and pitched the shovel behind a rock, destroying the evidence. I smiled the smile I give when presented with a camera, but the warden was not to be sated. Evidence or no, I found myself again near the tunnel, having lost my turn in the sand pit. Such is my life. Also a personal note: Goldfish crackers are delicious...especially once they have been floating in my water for several minutes. That was my day. Alas.
